Getting started

Your start in Damoria: pick a spot for your castle, build up your resources, use your protection time – and know where to find help.

Your first castle

When you enter a world for the first time, you choose the spot for your main castle on a map. Fields with a golden frame are free; you can't settle right next to another castle. “Suggest a free spot” finds you a place in a populated area. Before you confirm, the game shows you the field's advantages, such as its stars for Stone, Wood and Ore.

Your first buildings

Everything starts in the Construction office: this is where you order new buildings, two at a time at first (build queue). A proven order:

  1. Quarry and Sawmill to level 1 – the tutorial asks for exactly that.
  2. Upgrade all three resource buildings quickly, keeping the Quarry slightly ahead – you need stone the most. Level 15 is a good first goal.
  3. Keep the Storehouse one or two levels above your highest resource building. A full storehouse wastes production.
  4. Upgrade the Construction office: every level shortens the construction time of all other buildings.
  5. Expand the Living quarters in time – every building level and every unit needs settlers.
  6. Then Barracks, Wall and Hiding place for your first defenders and a safe resource reserve.

Your castle produces around the clock, even while you're offline. You get some gold to start with, plus one gold for every day you log in.

Protection and beginners bonus

After your start you enjoy beginner protection: other players can't attack you for a while – and you can't attack them either. How long it lasts depends on the world. While your realm is still small compared to the biggest in the world, the left bar also shows a beginners bonus on resources and troop production.
