Bandit camps

Bandits hoard resources, gems and often amber. How to find their camps, raid them cleverly and make the most of the Bandit Hunt.

Bandits hide in camps all over the map – thousands at a time, spread across free fields. They are pure PvE targets: no player defends them, but traps await your troops. Camps come and go: after a while, or once a camp has been almost emptied, it disappears, and new ones show up elsewhere.

Finding camps

On the map (The world map) camps are marked with a bandit symbol; a small amber stone in the corner means there is amber to be had. Hover over a camp to see the travel time of every unit, which unit the bandits fear, how many traps there are (a few, many, very many) and the stolen goods still left. A click takes you straight to the attack.

Attacking

  • You send a normal attack (Attacking); senators stay at home.
  • You can only have one attack running on the same camp at a time.
  • Traps cost you some troops. If you send the unit the bandits fear, far fewer of them walk into the traps; if the bandits fear "any unit", every unit benefits.
  • Your troops take what they can carry – per attack at most a share of the camp's original stock of each type of loot (normally 10%). Which types of loot you get is down to luck. Units with a lot of carrying capacity, such as Cavalry, pay off here.
  • If the camp has already vanished when you arrive, you get "You are too late!" and your troops turn back.

Amber and event loot

Camps with amber give you some amber on a successful attack if your troops bring enough carrying capacity. You can take at most 300 amber a day from bandits, up to 1,000 during the Bandit Hunt; the amber page shows the daily counter (Amber). During events bandits also drop event currency such as ham, gifts or eggs – as long as your attacking force is big enough.

Bandit Hunt

The first week of the monthly event rotation is the Bandit Hunt (Weekly Rotation). During it the camps hold ten times as much loot, a ranking rewards the most successful raiders with amber of every type and dragon scales, and alliances hunt together: if a member of your alliance attacked the same camp within the minute before you, you overwhelm the bandits – no losses and a bigger share of the loot.
