In the Diplomacy tab your alliance records how it stands with others. All members can see the entries; only members with the diplomacy right can add, delete or recolour them (see rights).
The four lists
- Next target – shared attack targets: a whole alliance, a single player or one castle (entered as coordinates xxx|yyy).
- Enemies – alliances you are at war with.
- Allies – friendly alliances you have a pact with.
- NAP's – non-aggression pacts: alliances you don't attack and that should not attack you.
Colours on the map
Each list has its own colour, used to mark the castles concerned on the map – the same for all members. By default enemies are red, allies light blue, NAPs purple and targets light grey; members with the diplomacy right can change the colours. On top of that you can mark players and alliances privately ("Mark on map" on their info page).
A matter of honour
Entries are one-sided: if you list an alliance as an ally or NAP, it is not told and doesn't have to confirm anything. And the game enforces nothing – it won't stop anyone from attacking an ally. As the game itself says, keeping alliances and NAPs is a matter of honour.
Every change is logged with a name in the alliance chronicle, e.g. "Y added the X alliance as an enemy". That way you can always see who entered what.
