The guard tournament takes place every day. You can join as soon as you have at least ten guard knights. The fights run automatically – your job is the line-up. All times are server time; the tournament page shows the countdowns.
Schedule
- 10:00 to 19:45 – register with "join this tournament". You need to sign up again every day; with a Guard Master this happens automatically.
- 20:02 to 20:29 – ten qualifying rounds, one every three minutes, knight against knight. Your knight in position 1 fights in round 1, the one in position 2 in round 2 and so on; from position 11 onwards, knights sit on the bench.
- 20:34, 20:39 and 20:44 – quarterfinals, semifinals and finals of the top eight, in teams of three. They use a separate final line-up: positions 1–3 fight in the quarterfinals, 4–6 in the semifinals and 7–9 in the finals.
In qualifying, wins count first and points break ties. If your opponent has no knight for the round, you win without a fight; with an odd number of players someone gets a "Wildcard Round". In the final rounds the three knights of a team fight one after another: the winner keeps his remaining life and faces the next opponent.
Line-up
After registering, your knights are sorted by experience; use "up" and "down" to rearrange them. Until 20:00 you can move everything, after that only positions that have not fought yet. Your knights fight even while on a mission, training or travelling – a fallen knight loses his round without a fight. From 20:00 to 20:50 you cannot change equipment or start a death mission.
Rewards
Every participant earns fame – the better the place, the more. The finalists get fixed amounts: the winner 750, the runner-up 600, the semifinal losers 500 each and the quarterfinal losers 400 each. There is gold too: 3 for the winner, 2 for the runner-up and 1 each for the semifinal losers.
Tournament fame counts twice: for the season's fame ranking and as spendable currency in the fame shop. The Guard Master only boosts the currency, by 25%. During the Guards Festival (weekly rotation) you get double fame plus extra Thalers for every place. The ten most famous players of the season carry the title "Hero of the Guard".
"Yesterday review" shows the previous day's results. You can watch every fight as a replay – for a few days, other players' fights too, via their Battle-ID. The rankings for fame, best equipment and death missions are in the statistics under "Your Guards".
