Settlements
Settlements from the Settler Event can neither attack nor be attacked – and they gain more bonuses with every year of protection.
A settlement is a special castle that you can only found during the Settler Event; when events run is shown in Events at a Glance. A settlement cannot launch attacks, but it can never be attacked either – a peaceful base for resources, amber and trade.
Founding a settlement
While the event runs, the construction wagon page offers an extra level: the Settler Construction Wagon (Construction wagon). It costs only resources, no rubies. Send it to a free field like any construction wagon; on arrival the settlement is founded, already with a few buildings. The wagon bar in the Construction office shows how many settlements you have and how many you can have at most.
What a settlement can and cannot do
- You cannot attack or send support from a settlement.
- Nobody can attack a settlement or send troops to it.
- Building, recruiting, trading and moving your troops work as usual.
- You can only demolish a settlement once it is 90 days old.
Years of protection
The first year of protection is free. Click the green "Settlement is protected" box in the settlement to see every year with its remaining time and to buy more – always the next one, up to ten years in total. The second year costs 25 gold, every further year twice as much as the one before. Some settlements only have a single year of protection; for those the page offers no extension. When the protection ends, the settlement becomes a normal castle – with all the rights and risks that come with it.
Bonuses per year of protection
The settlement bonus grows with every year of protection. As the settlement page shows, each year gives this settlement +10% troop queue size, +20% traders carrying capacity and +10% amber yield; on top comes a resource bonus that also rises with the years. Settlements also train their troops faster.
