Armored cavalry
Horse and rider in steel: the strongest regular fighter in attack and defence, quick on the scene, but costly in settlers.

Armored cavalry is your heavy horse. Per unit it attacks harder than any other regular troop and defends as well as hardly any other; it also carries a lot and is almost as fast as Cavalry. The price: it is expensive, takes long to train and takes up eight settlers per unit.
Strengths and weaknesses
- + Strong in attack and defence and fast as well – ideal for helping threatened castles.
- – Many settlers per unit: when space gets tight, Archers give more defence per settler.
Thanks to its speed, armored cavalry is the first choice when you want to send support quickly to one of your own castles or to an ally. In attacks it strengthens any army, and its carrying capacity makes it useful for plundering too. On wild animal hunts it may join against aurochs. It hits the Glowtail hard, but barely scratches the other dragons.
Weapon research in the laboratory
| Stage | Research | Bonus per stage | Stone | Wood | Ore | Research time | Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Armored cavalry | +30 attack, +40 defence | 7,560 | 7,392 | 9,072 | 1 h 47 min | Stables 5 Laboratory 1 |
| 2 | Stainless steel sword | +30 attack, +40 defence | 15,120 | 14,784 | 18,144 | 3 h 34 min | Stables 10 Laboratory 5 |
| 3 | Steel chain armor | +30 attack, +40 defence | 60,480 | 59,136 | 72,576 | 3 h 34 min | Stables 15 Laboratory 10 |
Each stage is researched once per castle and adds its bonus to every unit of this type in that castle. Choose your laboratory level and world above and the research times adjust.
