Knight training

Strength, Precision, Speed and Intelligence: how to train your knights with Thalers – and how the Guard Master can do it for you.

In the Training tab you raise a knight's four skills. Every level costs Thalers and takes a while – cost and duration are shown on each card and in the table below. Each skill starts at 1 and can be trained up to the knight's current level at most; once he levels up, you can continue. If a card says "max. Level", that skill has reached the knight's level.

The four skills

  • Strength – raises attack. The higher the level, the bigger the gain per training.
  • Precision – raises the crit rate, the chance of landing an extra-hard hit.
  • Speed – shortens travel time on missions and when moving. On death missions its effect is limited.
  • Intelligence – improves your chances of finding equipment on missions.

Strength and Precision take effect immediately, above all in the tournament and on death missions. Speed and Intelligence apply to missions offered from now on – offers already on the board do not change.

Training or mission – never both

A knight only ever does one thing and trains one skill at a time. While he is training he cannot take a mission, be moved or start a death mission – and vice versa. He still fights in the tournament, though.

Costs rise with every level. Strength and Precision stay comparatively cheap, Speed gets much more expensive at higher levels, and Intelligence is by far the most expensive and slowest skill.

Automatic training with the Guard Master

With an active Guard Master, training runs by itself every hour. You pick a fixed skill, "All evenly - lowest skill first" or "Always the cheapest skill", and optionally a target level. He pays from your Thalers and never trains beyond the knight's level. With a fixed skill he waits once it has reached its target instead of switching to another one.
