Construction sites

Every building level takes up one construction site. How many your castles have, how to get more and what to do after a catapult attack.

Construction sites – often called build fields – decide how big a castle can grow. Every single building level takes up one site: a Storehouse at level 30 needs 30 construction sites. Only the event buildings elf workshop and hen house take up none. The “Construction sites” page, which you reach from the panel on the left, shows how many are still free.

How many sites does a castle have?

Your main castle starts with 1,000 construction sites. For every other castle the number depends on its field on the map and is usually between 500 and 800. The map shows it for every free field, and when choosing a target for your construction wagon you can filter by a minimum number (Construction wagon). Special castles often have considerably more (Special castles).

Getting more sites

  • One-off expansion: on the “Construction sites” page you can expand your main castle and each normal secondary castle once by 10% for gold. Special castles are excluded.
  • Construction site items: events, promotions and rewards give you single sites for normal castles, Baldur castles, your main castle or amber castles. You redeem them from the upgrade stock in a castle of the matching type (Upgrade Stock).
  • Amber: the Barion spell “The Expansion” puts a site for a normal castle into your upgrade stock once a day (Amber).
  • Demolition: once every site is used, tear down levels you no longer need – each demolished level frees one site (Demolishing buildings).

Repairing damaged sites

Catapults can damage construction sites during an attack. A damaged site is blocked until it is repaired; the “Construction sites” page lists each one with its condition and the cost and duration of the repair. The heavier the damage, the more expensive and longer the repair, and a high Construction office shortens the duration. Repairs run independently of your construction list. If your Storehouse does not hold enough, the repair takes the rest from your Hiding place.

Stars: your location's resource bonus

Besides the number of sites, it also matters where your castle stands: every field on the map has up to five stars each for stone, wood and ore, plus stars for gem production. The more stars, the more of that resource the castle produces. Stars belong to the location – you see them when you hover over a field on the map.
